FIBC Safety Factor 5:1 vs 6:1 vs 8:1 — How to Choose Your Jumbo Bag

What the safety factor means, when to pick 5:1, 6:1 or 8:1, and the other specs that matter on a jumbo bag.

The safety factor is the ratio between the bag’s breaking strength and its rated Safe Working Load (SWL). A 5:1 bag breaks at five times its SWL; 6:1 and 8:1 give more margin for reuse and demanding loads.

What the ratio means

Standard single-use FIBCs for cement and aggregate run at 5:1. If bags are reused or stacked outdoors for months, 6:1 or 8:1 adds margin and peace of mind.

Other specs that matter

Lifting loops (cross-corner vs duffle), top/bottom spouts, anti-static Type C/D and UV protection all affect how your FIBC performs on site.

We build FIBCs to GB/T 10454-2025 with 5:1, 6:1 or 8:1. Send your load spec and we will recommend the right bag.
